A survey conducted by the Brazilian Association of Film Critics (Abraccine) placed Guida, a short film distributed by Elo Company, in the list of the 100 national best shorts of all time.
The short story tells of Guida, a sweet lady who has been working for 30 years as an archivist at the City Forum, has her tedious routine modified when she comes across an ad for live model classes at a cultural center.
The vote, sponsored by Abraccine, featured critics, professors and researchers from around the country. The list will serve as a basis for the book "Curta Brasileiro - 100 Filmes Essenciais", which will be produced in partnership with Canal Brasil and the publisher Letramento. The book concludes a collection, which still has lists dedicated to longs, documentaries and Brazilian animations.
"Brazilian Short Film - 100 Essential Films" will be released in the second half of 2019 with essays dedicated to each of the titles on the list, written by different people linked to film criticism and research.
